Snow, Ice & Tiger extravaganza…
Day 1 – London to Beijing
Travel from London Heathrow airport for scheduled flight to Beijing. We can also arrange departures from your local airport.

Day 2 – Beijing
Arrive at Beijing Capital Airport and transfer to 4* hotel in city centre.

Rest of day is free to relax and acclimatise to your new surroundings.

Day 3 – Beijing
Start our tour this morning with a visit to Tiananmen Square – the largest public square in the world. Walking through the Gate of Heavenly Peace (late Chairman Mao’s huge portrait hanging over the gate), we enter the magnificent Forbidden City – which served as imperial palaces for 24 emperors since 15th century. This massive palace compound never fails to impress.

In the afternoon the tour continues to the enchanting Summer Palace – the largest imperial garden in the world, where late Qing emperors and empresses stayed between May and October, seeking escape from the pollution inside the city. (B/L)

Day 4 – Beijing
Today we travel outside the city to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. You will be given plenty of time to explore this magnificent monument and climb to the top.

Afternoon is spent back in the city and a visit to the famous silk market, where you can practice your bargaining skills.

The evening is time to relax with a traditional Peking duck banquet. (B/L/D)

Day 5 – Beijing to Harbin
This morning we transfer to the airport for a short flight to Harbin, the North Eastern Chinese city famous for the spectacular Ice Lantern Festival! (Remember to bring lots of warm clothing for the Siberian weather conditions!!).

Upon arrival you will visit the River Songhua and The Sun Island Park, which is the site of the Ice and Snow Sculpture Exhibition, displaying a wonderful snow world. It has the world’s largest indoor ice and snow art museum.

Tonight enjoy a traditional Chinese Dumpling Dinner. Afterwards we visit Zhaolin Park, home to the famous Harbin Ice Lantern Festival which at night becomes an amazing ice world of coloured lights embedded in the sculptures. (B/L/D)

Stay overnight in the 5* Sinoway Hotel.

Day 6 – Harbin
This morning you will be taken to the Siberian Tiger Park. The park has reared more than 500 beautiful but endangered pure bred Siberian tigers, and this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and photograph these magnificent creatures.

Later you can visit the Harbin Ice and Snow World, one of the world’s largest ice architecture parks. (B/L)

Day 7 – Harbin
Today you have a city tour to the St. Sofia Orthodox Church, the largest Orthodox church in the Far East. You will also visit the Dragon Tower; which actually is the broadcasting and TV tower!! It was originally ranked the first highest in Asia but is now the second highest in the world.

Later you will see the Smugglers’ Market and you will have an opportunity to stroll around the cobblestone streets in the Daoliqu area to see the Russian style architecture.

After dinner this evening you will have another opportunity to visit either the Ice Lantern Festival in Zhaolin Park, the Harbin Ice and Snow World or the Ice and Snow Sculpture Exhibition in Sun Island Park. (B/L/D)

Day 8 – Harbin to Beijing
This morning you will take a return flight to Beijing. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your 4* hotel.

Rest of day at leisure. (B)

Optional day / overnight tours to Xian and Shanghai available at extra cost.

Day 9 – Beijing
Today you will have a free day in Beijing to explore or do some last minute shopping. (B)

Day 10 – Beijing to London
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight home to London, arriving same day. (B)
