It is time to let your hair down and start joining the Chinese for the holidays in China. Some of the main festivities will make you want to come back for more. The holidays in China take tourist abound to the most amazing attractions in the world where millions of folks gather and enjoy festivities. Some of the holidays last as long as fifteen days, so prepare to have loads of fun. The Night of Sevens is one of the most popular celebrations, which is also called the Magpie Festival.

Each holiday is celebrating in remembrance of legends and folklores that have been carried along for centuries. Magpie legends extend to the Zhi Nu. According to the legend, Zhi is one of China’s goddess. The goddess is considered the Star of Vega, who fell in love with the handsome man Niu Lang. This is an ancient farmer’s son who Chinese refer to him as the Star of Altair. The holidays in China is celebrated in remembrance of this event in which the mother goddess had disapproved the relationship, which resulted in a division amongst the lovers. The division separated them from the Milky Way where the couple was only allotted to express their true love once a year during the night.

The holiday is recognized as Valentine’s Day and it falls in lunar month on the seventh day. Valentine’s Day seems to inspire others to join in the festivities and carry on the legends and folklores inspired by Korea Chilseok and Tanabata Japan. Women during this time show their appreciation by demonstrating melon carvings and other domestic artwork. The Chinese women put their faith in the goddess and hope to meet a loving husband of their own. Valentine’s Day carries on many names, including the Seventh Sister Birthday, Night of Skills, and Festival to Plead for Skills. During the celebrations in August, on the seventh day Lunar month is just beginning a whole new era for China residents. Lunar actually begins in some areas during December on the 22, and this holiday is known as the Congee or Laba Festival. The people get together and celebrate the enlightenment or Buddha Attainment. Laba Congee is enjoyed on this day, which Laba is a mixture of grain and fruits.
Another popular China holiday is the “Day of the Winter Solstice.” During this holiday the Mid-Winter Festivities begin. During this time ancestor worship performances are given in memory of Tangyuan, Jiuniang. Family gathers occur and it takes them to the holiday, the Chinese call, Thanksgiving Day. The holidays in China have long histories to enjoy, e.g. the Solstice events date back to the century of Yin and Yang. The philosophies comprise of Cosmo Harmony and balance. It is one of the most memorable holidays in China. According to history the longest day starts after this holiday.
